Is the dumper hire suitable for the type of ground?
When heavy machinery is involved, there’s always the risk that the ground may not be able to take its weight. Ground can become churned up, have the potential to collapse, or the machinery could damage any pipework or cabling which is located underneath it. Check how much ground disruption will be acceptable, as this will affect the weight of the dumper you hire. When choosing your dumper weight, also be sure to factor in the weight of the load and the operator.
What access do you have?
It’s vital to be sure that your dumper can gain access to the areas where you need it to work and also be able to manoeuvre comfortably and safely, once there. Before you choose the dumper size you think you need, always check the height and width dimensions, in addition to the weight.
The size you’ll need will depend on what you’re moving and how manoeuvrable the vehicle needs to be. Dumpers can either tip out materials at the front or side of the machine.
